Women's Book Group
The St. John’s Women’s Book Group meets once a month, currently on the 4th Tuesday at 7:00PM, to discuss a book we have all read. Our selections range from books by theologians, such as Marcus Borg, to books by members of the clergy, such as Peter Gomes, Barbara Brown Taylor and Katherine Jefferts Schori, to books about other religions, such as Buddism, Judaism and Islam. We have read about life in monasteries, about mystics and even such current books as Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and The Shack by WP Young. We take turns hosting the meetings in our homes, engaging in lively discussions over tea, coffee and light snacks. We also take turns leading the discussions. Average attendance is approximately 12 women.
